Well... from the get, Herbie Hancock was one of the original innovators of the whole Electronic/Jazz/Fusion thing back in the day anyway. The albums he did during the early to mid-seventies, such as Sextant and Thrust, illustrate this point most clearly; especially Sextant... an album that has no doubt inspired more than a few Detroit producers. And then there was Future Shock and the like during the early '80s, but I would hesistate to really classify that as being "Jazz" per se... to me it was more of an updated Soul, Electrofunk sound. But, nonetheless, it was no doubt influential in its own way as well. It is interesting to see Herbie collaborating with the likes of Carl and Gerald. I've been wondering to myself for years when Herbie Hancock was going to team up with some Detroit guys. It just makes sense, especially for Carl to work with him. I've been looking forward to hearing this for awhile... -J np: YMO- BGM ;-) --------------------------------------------- This message was sent via the BiznessOnline.com webmail system. http://www.biznessonline.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
