MJ Cole is pretty ace. Did you hear "Attitude" last year? You're right about
the Detroit/Chicago being in there, but then that's not surprising, given
he's a former Drum & Bass head, turned Garage producer .... which I know
someone around these parts finds to be the worst of all worlds ... :o).
Incidentally, have you heard the As One album? There is a track on there
called 'Contours' which sounds suspsiciously like Speed Garage!... But more
like the MJ Cole style of Garage ... I used to be quite blanket negative on
that scene, but as it matures, I'm very reluctant to just dismiss it
wholesale ... I keep hearing stuff in it that I find subtle, soulful and
deep ...
