Wasn't the Blackwater with vocals the original? I have the release on 430 west by Octave One with the instrumental on one side and Ann Saunderson singing vocals on the other side. IMO - those vocals are excellent. If you're talking about a vocal that just says, "balckwater" over the background, that's very E-dancer sounding - it's actually the e-dancer remix also out on 430 west. Those vocals are pretty hairy IMO. There's also a new Octave one remix of the tune that is supposed to be the "strings" remix. Haven't heard it, but Mike Taylor was supposed to play it on his show last weekend - maybe he can shed some light.
