Managed to locate the vid. here at the uni where I work. Akomfrah is a member of the Black Audio Film Collective based in Birmingham, UK. He's been involved making movies on the Handsworth Riots & Malcolm X.
The Last Angel of History (45 mins.) info: "Explores the relationships between Pan-African culture, science fiction, space exploration & expanding computer technology. Posits science fiction as a metaphor for the Pan-African experience of forced displacement, cultural alienation & otherness by exploring the work of musicians G. Clinton, D. May, & DJ Spooky, sf authors S.R. Delaney & O. Fields, astronaut Dr. B.A. Harris Jr., actress N. Nichols, cultural critics G. Tate & K. Eshun, & novelist I. Reed." Wonder if Drexciya are mentioned.
