Hello,
I just wanted to let people know that they should be on the look out for
some of the upcoming releases on Down Low. I received a CDr of Arne
Wineberg's next 12" and it is top notch. Arne's stuff is just deep and moody
Detroit Techno with excellent strings and percussion. It is due in August.
Also, KJ aka The Moderator has a 12" on the way as well, it is currently
available on White label. The Moderator record is more of a Detroit'y
minimal juno strings/bass line and 909 work out, an excellent mix tool. My
only disappointment is that there is a short purpose-maker style track that
should have been longer than the minute long snippet; It had the potential
to be the most driving cut on the record. This record is due in May.
Currently available is Muffler Strut from Macho Cat Garage. This mysterious
Hague-based duo have recently released a 12" on I-F's Viewlexx records. If
you are looking for VCO-based sleazy analogue grooves, Muffler Strut is a
good bet. It is very tracky, but the analogue hook is strong enough to hold
your attention.
Todas Los Noches is the new 12" by $tinkworx. Although this 12" actually
appears on Marsel Van Der Weelen's Delsin imprint I will mention it here as
well. Probably the strongest thing he/they(?) have done. If you are looking
for records on the Nu-Italio tip, this 12" is well worth looking into. for
