I haven't posted for a while due to work, but re: Tenderness track May
plays:

I specifically asked and he told me that it was a remix of The Climax, and
the instrumental is, but the vocal track, maybe that's from something else.
Maybe ask on www.demf.com

I wanted to say how brave and well-written Lisa Collins' article in Metro
Times was - I had wondered for a long time when Ms Marvin would talk to the
media. I wanted to hear her address certain issues. I would have thought Ms
Marvin's publicity peeps would suggest another strategy with the media, but,
blunt as it was, it's good to know what she really thinks. Needless to say,
while it hurt my back carrying it, I brought a stack of those papers home
for people here to read.

Also, late as this is, my DEMF highlights - In Swing at Belle Isle, lovely
place (props to my cabbie 'Big Daddy' for getting me there!), great DJs
(Shortround, Alan, Sean, Mike Clark, Genesis, oh, and the techno dog...),
lovely people, and thanks Jan D for being so media-friendly, professional
and welcoming, Stacey Pullen/Alton Miller @ Resident (Oh my God!!), Transmat
party (DM's sets are always like catching the Holy Spirit for me!),
Trackmode/Sound Signature afterparty (a bill better than sex and
chocolate!!! He, he, Moodymann's show, fun, freaky and innovative stuff,
Larry and Norma, amazing!!), KMS party (Ron Trent, incredible!). I know I
missed many other amazing things. I wish I could have stayed longer as the
Global nights at The Works look so great.

Of the actual DEMF, I liked the house element most, or tech-house, and I
thoroughly enjoyed the Detroit DJs, as usual. Eddie Fowlkes was a great main
stage act - he really is a good showman. In my honest opinion, the imported
techno DJs were underwhelming and too non-descript and ravey, but that's as
I am subjected to that at home endlessly - the Attack Of The Mills Clones, I
want Jeff 'Yoda of the decks' Mills himself - but I appreciate others
enjoyed them, and anything is better than progressive house and nu-skool
breaks, the genres du jour in Australia. Of the newer names to me, I adored
Billy Love & UFM, Ron Carroll was a revelation, and Aux Men was deep.

I would like to know what the latest is on next year's DEMF contractual
situation as I understood this was to be determined by 31 May.

Also I am trying to remember the set list and personnel for the live sets at
the Trackmode/Sound Signature party - esp Larry's ace set. Any help from
trainspotters appreciated!
