We have similar touchpoints.  I recall being on a extended bus trip in high
school and listening to Oxygene on tape over and over well into the night.
This was a revelation.  The album still brings me back to a certain state of
wonder.

Another revelation was 6th grade music class, when the teacher asked us to
visualize what might be happening during a particular piece of music.  It
was Tomita's version of Holst's "Mars" from "The Planets".

I was thirteen, and it was good to flail around to at my age.  A couple
years ago, I sought out this Meco Monardo CD (for other galactic funk), and
recently played it for coworkers.  It was a campy hit!

Tangerine Dream's "Exit" was another electronic favorite.  I also listened
to Klaatu's first two albums quite a lot at that tender age.
