i recommend mp3 since it is available to about all computer platforms,
and WMA is windows only.
and don't forget ogg vorbis which finally hit the magical 1.0 release
mark this week. for what i've used ogg it is superior to mp3 in soundquality.
and it is also available to most platforms.(and, it is free)
