Yes, this is what a DJ with "depth" can do.  Really diverse DJ sets by people 
like Derrick Carter, Theo Parrish, Shake, Derrick May, Francois K and even 
kooks like Traxx and DJ Hell  can really amaze with selections like this... it 
gives new context to an old track.  It comes from a lifetime of listening to 
(and a passionate love for) all things dance music, it's playing out the 
history of techno/house in a way that keeps it very fresh and in context of new 
and excellent techno or house too.  You have to really KNOW music to pull this 
off, so to see it done brilliantly in a DJ set is unfortunately all too rare.
