It comes back to diffent styles of music appeal to different people. Some people like loopy songs, some people like complicated song structure, some people like jazz, while another may hate jazz at love ...ahem, cough - Def Leppard.

And of course some people are newer, less experienced musicians and play live and you obviously won't get a musical show of the same caliber as someone who has years of experimenting and creative development.

I agree. Sometimes it's the people *watching* the shows that are boring. (not intended as a dig on the person who started the post)

this is the reason that DJs play for several hours and live PAs are
typically 1 hour or less.

and remember guys, the person making the music is just making the music.
the emphasis should be on the party, not the person making the music
