Is Chris Leibing not the happiest DJ on earth?
Oh yeah, he was in good spirits. In a conversation before his set, he
said he was very honored to play in Detroit and really liked the decor
of the venue: exposed brick and all. But hey, I'll take a happy DJ over
someone standing there like a zombie anytime. Chris has alot of
personality on the decks (and even took some time out to snap some
photos of the crowd during the set!) and I dig that. Not to mention all
that pumpin', fierce, angry Techno you can handle that he was spankin'
people with which got everyone all riled up and cheering. Nice! You
can really get your rocks off to that stuff, figuratively speaking.
:-) Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to experience it in full
force when he spun in the bunker at Tresor Love Parade this year. I
wasn't about to go down there again a 3rd night in a row because it was
just TOO hot. However, I heard the moisture down there crashed his
Final Scratch (Doh!) and luckily he had brought some records with him to
continue on with.
It was also my first time hearing Acid Pimp and he was on fire too! All
in all, it was a great time last night. And tomorrow, its off to see
Christian Smith! Whooohoo, finally there's some good Techno shows in
the D that won't make me fall asleep. Zzzzzzz.
Ta-ta,
g.
Did anyone else check him out last night? It was
pretty energetic along the lines of DEX FX 909...
Pretty interesting and fun! He really grooves and that
definitely adds to the excitement...
