hmm..usually new yorkers LEAVE new york on new years
eve or they all go to brooklyn and hide from the
tourists.

The times square thing is an experience, however it's
usually consists of standing out in the bitter cold
for hours on end and stupid drunk ppl waving some sort
of noise maker, big #1 sponge finger or homemade
poster in your face. You have to get there pretty
early to see the ball drop.I'm not a crowd person, so
to each their own. or Rob's own in this case.;)

I say keep your eyes and ears open as the time gets
closer. Just as you would in Detroit. You never know.
Not saying that I know of anything but there are alot
of good nyc dj's so hopefully they will do something.
I *think* some DJ's (who spin techno) from Selekta
Magazine might be doing something. Keep your eyes &
ears open to things like Flyer Magazine, Time Out etc.
Even stop by some record stores while you're in town
like Sonic etc.

Also keep an open mind to Brooklyn and not just Manny
where the crowds & tourists flock. As for starting off
the year with Oakfold, you might as well start it off
standing under a ladder holding a black cat with a
full moon.:)

good luck!
