I am still a total sucker for Claude Young's remixes of Jacob's Optical
Stairway's "Solar Feelings" too - I'm not sure if I can remember a more
successful experiment in fusing jungle-type drum programming with
Detroit melody/sound design aesthetics.

Ultimately, though, I think that the purist in me stopped me exploring
that field any further: I ended up thinking that the presence in my
record collection of both "proper" jungle and "proper" Detroit techno
kind of nullified my need to own records which spliced the two genres
together. But if I'd come across more work that was as impressive as
Claude's remixes of JOS, I might well have paid more attention!
