My experience with the TT2's has been limited to a couple of the DJ shops
that utilize them for listening stations. Initially they look well designed
and built. The digital pitch readout is one feature I'd like to see on the
next-generation Technics (if such a thing ever comes along). The biggest
distinct advantage that I've noticed about the Technics turntables is that
they are about as solid as decks come. The bases are heavier and sturdier,
and so are the platters. Technics uses some kind of very solid rubber (or
rubber-like) material for the base, most of the rest of it is made from
aluminum. That kind of stability makes it the undisputed top choice for
most DJ's and turntablists. Of course, that all comes at a price. If price
is the bottom line (and for some people, it is) then the Numarks aren't a
bad way to go. I think $150 per deck is a pretty good buy if they are in
good shape, a comparably used 1200 will cost you roughly twice as much.
