No thanks, won't make it this year, but who cares......
Living on their past, the relics of past, these triumvirates filling with
haughtiness; hauteur; assumption; lordliness; presumption; disdain;
insolence; conceitedness.
making undue claims in an overbearing manner; that species of pride which
consists in exorbitant claims of rank, power, which exalts the worth or
importance of themselves to an undue degree; proud contempt of others;
lordliness; haughtiness; self-assumption; presumption.
Thinking they can run such festival without budget, I can better understand
now, why the majority on these same guys cannot run properly an independent
label, a simple macro structure.......
Betting for the sponsors: Clear channel ?
Line up : Sacha, Digweed ?
Blame me, flame me... my answer will be Oh well.....
Sure depends on festival goals, what's the goal here?
Detroit exposure artists ?( the only goal that can be held) or just an
international so called electronic festival ?
Was glad to see last year the committee brought people like Dwayne
Jensen,Greg Collier (bro of Ken Collier, imagine...) Melvin Hill, gave them
exposure, replacing things in their true context, simply THE history...gave
a chance to this wonderful girl Korie and so much.
Above all the resentment, and for good reason, as they had been trapped in a
real well organized ambush by these same arrogant guys, the committee last
year dedicated their actions to Detroit artists , comitted to their peepz, I
do respect and support that (and I put in the word artist, the Dj who do not
produce but are a part of the real, true history).
Is not because artists haven't traveled all around the world that one may
shit on them, it's because they were the first to suffer that today one can
travel all around the world.
This city has too much hidden artists, recognition is mandatory.
If am I bitter? No, but Yes, I'm arrogant as well, I piss off, too much
playa hatters, clique.
At that stage they must put together a task force, instead of thinking they
are better than others.

Suburban Night and Jay Denham played DEMF 2. Not that I wouldn't
mind seeing them again though ;)

I second that.... How about Dopplereffekt Vs. Ultradyne peforming in a
tribute to James?
I only woke up an hour ago and am still a little stunned by all this, but
I
am quite happy and ecited by it all:)
I have the utmost confidence that Derrick, Kevin and Carl will bust their
asses over the next few months and put on the best DEMF yet. Like Rob I'm
happy to offer my services, if it's felt that they can be of any use;-)
Some of the folks I'd like to see at DEMF this year: Rob Hood, Claude
Young, Jay Denham, Kraftwerk, Suburban Knight....oh Jesus this could go
on and on, so I'll leave it at that;-)
A memorial of some sort for James, Laura et al is essential imHo
though....though I admit I haven't the faintest what might be appropriate.
See you all in May!
Cheers!
