Master mixes were common in the late 80's, early 90's turn you radio to any
Urban/RnB radio 
station on a Friday night.
"It takes two to make things go right....woo...yeah...woo...yeah... I wanna
rock right now...."

I remember buying a Euro-house master mix and a classic house master mix
showcasing all the 
popular house tracks from 1987 with Sleezy D I've lost Control and mostly
thumping digital 
drum machines.
You got to love the TR-707 bass drum and cowbell.
