funsters just to add a little to the recent thread about nubian mindz / broken beat / techno. if you are into that style check out the 'new season' comp on archive, which includes a pretty good mindz track 'forgotten parts'. it is def the pick of the comps so far, diverse without being all over the place and mostly quality, although you get the feeling that sometimes the stylistic elements of the music are fetishised to the extent that some of the producers seem to be content with sticking a few cliched 'sci fi' synth chords with an overcomplicated break. like we need more of that kind of thing...sorry guys, it aint the futuristic jazzual butter or whatever the chaser calls it - it's just boring. try smoking less weed in the studio. apart from a few gripes like that, and a slight feeling that a few of the tracks are a little undercooked, it's mostly pretty good and highlights the diversity of the influences, such as detroit techno, hip hop, brazilian music and jungle, and how they're actually being integrated into something fresh.
