It should be pointed out that a lot of early Chicago house have a very synthetic, Kraftwerk-y sound... I don't have any of those records, I just know I've heard some great tunes in that vein that were pre-1990 house tracks. If people are coming back around to that sound, and they do it well, more power to 'em. Seems like Green Velvet has always kept that up. In fact he's the only Chicago dude I hear who still makes those loop&tweak analog tracks and gets away with it.
