Personally, I prefer the DJM-600... my limited experience (and feedback from
others) has been that the Pioneer unit is built pretty well and is fairly
durable.  If I had to make a second choice, I'd go with one of the better
Vestax models.  I actually do prefer the layout of the Vestax, and it's also
less expensive... but you don't get the sampler and effects that you do with
the Pioneer.  You can make up for this by buying a separate effects box you
can add that will provide those features for you, but in my opinion, that's
just another piece of gear to lug around... I've been having to go mobile a
bit more frequently lately and the less you have to haul, the better.  With
either make, you're going to get a good quality mixer with most of the
features you want.  Of course, Rane has always made durable mixers too, but
that's a bit out of my own price range.
