looks like i might have to drop by my favorite recordstore this evening,
that mike clark one looks tasty, anyone heard that yet?
and was that kirk degiorgio 12" on new religion, that was mentioned a couple
of weeks ago, allready officially released, i haven't seen it yet.
highly recommended is also jon slocum 'pret-a-porter' [m.o.u.t.] 2 great
tracks, that go on and on and on, without getting boring, one of 'm even
sounds like it's 3 tracks.

typical Madlib sound woven through them. A bit like Afronaught, a bit like

MIKE CLARK - MOTOWN EP - JPN12''
[THIRD EAR - 3EEP 016 - 21732] - 9,50
AKA Agent X (Planet E, Shockwave, Detroit). Here a new four track 12 on the
japan based Third Ear imprint. This is the first out of a series called the
'Detroit Beatdown Sessions' which is also gonna feature exciting (we think)
new stuff by Malik Alston and more upcoming Detroit & other producers.
The A1 track starts out as a low paced offbeat house track with heavy beats,
easy pianochords, chunky bassline and jazzy synths. Halfway through there's
a long break with a great keysolo, airy strings and a slight change of
rhythm to return back to the same heavy low paced rhythm as the start of the
track. The A2 is a minimal off beat track with quirky synth sounds, good
beats and thin strings on the background. The B1 track is more low profile
kicks off as a slow offbeat track with loose guitar playing, and transforms
to an offbeat house track, maintaining the guitar. The last track (B2) is a
house track with hard, crispy snares, sexy synth sounds and moody strings
underneath.

New 12 on Planet E. The info side has the crazy drum track on there which
features Laurent Garnier. It starts out with just loose percussive drums
which remain audible throughout the whole track. The track is slowly
building up to maximum tension adding crazy 'demented' vocal outcry's, thin
synth stabs and a sneaky introduction of a 4/4 rhythm. There's a break on
like 2/3rd of the track to return to fullgrown madness with extra bass
sounds. In ya face!! Also the two much more minimal outtakes on the flip
are very nice.

More deep, pulsating minimal gear from Deep Chord. Rob Modell here with 4
tracks that sound very Maurizio.

New Label in the Axis family. The A1 track has a light & loose rhythm going
over thin&careful stringwork that keeps the tension going; the A2 track is a
bit in the same line but has a firmer 4/4 rhythm and futuristic sounds
added. The most minimal track is the B1 track with it's raw 'n chunky beats
and machine like sounds followed by the final B2 track, a beatless
electronic soundscape with warm stringwork.
