I once got a request during a techno set at an all-techno party years back that was so out of place that i still remember it to this day: I was just about at the peak of my set (think I was playing dave clarke's red 3 or adam x and heather heart on magnetic north at the time) and a woman came up, looked at me very confused, and said "can you play killing me softly?" (you know, the cover of robert flack from the fugees). Because I'm a nice guy, and because I like the Fugees, I didn't want to be rude to her about her out of place request, so I said "I'm sorry, but you won't be hearing 'killing me softly' from any of the DJs tonight, it's going to be techno all night long."
