LIVE IT!

LIVID - is the first, the longest running, the most credible.....

God-dammit we're the best on the annual festival calendar and we're back
this October, touring a top notch team of acts to Sydney and Melbourne
before heading home to Livid's birthplace in Brisbane for the 17th event in
that fair city.

There are only two kinds of music. good and bad. LIVID is set to bring you a
bumper crop of the first variety in 2003. With approx. 60 of Australia's and
the world's finest acts, drawn from a spectrum of musical genres and
appearing across five stages, you can bet you're going to have a busy day at
LIVID 2003.

So get ready, get set and get gob-smacked as we very proudly deliver you the
first round of acts from the killer line-up that will grace the stages of
LIVID 2003.

LINKIN PARK, THE WHITE STRIPES, THE LIVING END, JURASSIC 5, BLACK REBEL
MOTORCYLE CLUB, THE ROOTS, ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES, FRENZAL RHOMB,
YEAH YEAH YEAHS, TURBONEGRO, RESIN DOGS, GOLDFINGER, ROCKET SCIENCE,
BUTTERFINGERS, GELBISON, FOR AMUSEMENT ONLY

Which band sold the most records in 2001? And we're talking in the world!
Which band then backed that up in 2002, coming in with the 3rd highest
selling album with their debut Hybrid Theory? The fans have spoken and now
LINKIN PARK, the Southern Californian genre-busting 6-piece will be
headlining the LIVID main stage in 2003, playing their ONLY AUSTRALIAN SHOWS
for the year.

With current album Meteora already double platinum in Australia alone, this
slamming sextet - the 'nice guys' of nu-metal - are on a mission of
deliverance. They've been stamped as the hottest musical outfit on the
planet, and they're coming to Australia for LIVID to back it up!

Next up, undoubtedly the coolest band on the planet - we give you the WHITE
STRIPES.

LIVID's Triple J Big Top Stage is the flagship of cool amongst Australia's
touring rock festivals and in 2003 Livid delivers again with 'are they or
aren't they?' Jack and Meg White. This powerful and majestic, but intensely
subtle duo will bring their new guitar revolution mixed with lo-fi blues in
a scuzzy, hip and happening set, headlining Triple J's Big Top.

After spending the first part of 2003 munching down on In n' Out Burgers in
LA recording their new album due in late September, THE LIVING END are keen
to work up a sweat in front of their home town crowd in Melbourne, appearing
for the first time on LIVID's Main Stage, and bringing their rock-a-billy
anthems to the fans in Sydney and Brisbane too.

The Los Angeles-based team that is JURASSIC 5 are remarkable. Their sound is
a throwback to an era of hip-hop where block parties and park jams ruled,
and their vibe brings smiles and grins to the most jaded of festival goer.
All about making good music that connects with people. J5 RULE!

American roots rock never sounded so good, and when BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE
CLUB blasted onto our airwaves in 2002, there was a collective dropping of
jaws world-wide. From the white-hot sound of "Whatever Happened to My Rock
and Roll" off their seriously addictive self-titled release, to their
blistering live shows, Australian audiences were sucker-punched by this LA
based three-piece. We warmly welcome BRMC and their brand new album, "Take
Them On, On Your Own" to Livid in 2003.

Hip-hop legends THE ROOTS take their rightful place as our ANNEX headliners
- and no matter who your favourite Jackson is, these guys always go for the
underdog!

Crafted with a blazing ingenuity and your booty shakin' antics in mind, THE
ROOTS will leave their mark on the soles of your sneakers with their amazing
hip hop sensibilities. This legendary outfit has been touring its tush off
and is ready to astound you.

Some might say an Australian tour is just an opportunity to work on your
golfing handicap, but it won't be all fairways and five-irons for ME FIRST &
THE GIMME GIMMES - there's work to be done, and Livid's Loudmouth stage is
no easy task-master! Check out NOFXs Fat Mike, along with his buddies,
Jackson, Dave, Joey and Spike when the GIMME GIMMES headline the Loudmouth
Stage in their inimitable style.

Some might say that Sans Souci is the greatest piece of musical expression
ever committed to compact disc. We know otherwise, but maybe someone forget
to tell FRENZAL RHOMB? It is tops of course, so check 'em out on the
LOUDMOUTH stage - alright!

Is Karen O normal? Who cares - she sounds bloody amazing! YEAH YEAH YEAHS
- the super-sexed up New York trio, who mash up a mixture of brash
femininity and punk sensibility are rocking the Big Top in 2003.

Norway's self-proclaimed death punk superstars, TURBONEGRO will take to the
Loudmouth stage with their 1% work, 99% hormones ethic - yeah they're the
weirdest band on the planet hands down, but don't call 'em a joke band,
they'll kick your arse!

The Brisbane contingent always put on a good show for Livid and 2003s ANNEX
stage will be no different. Livid welcomes hip-hop funkateers RESIN DOGS to
play some of their best party tunes and infectious funk ditties.

SoCal punk rockers GOLDFINGER fatten up the Loudmouth line-up this year.
With as many line-up changes as vegetarian meals under their belts, these
guys work hard, play hard and will rock your little socks off!

If your band is described as sounding "like The Hives being run over by a
truckload of Small Faces" (NME) it can only be a good thing! It's a real
pleasure to welcome back ROCKET SCIENCE from their antipodean adventure, we
can't wait for them to show us their new moves.

Brisbane's BUTTERFINGERS will be hitting the road for LIVID in the family
truckster, endeavouring to bring the East Coast more broken hearts, shabby
merchandise and some of the most original Aussie Hip-Hop you are ever likely
to experience so don't miss out.

Organic psychedelia is certainly one way to describe one of Australia's most
exciting new rock bands, but for some it was love at first sight! Sydney's
GELBISON will be hitching up to the LIVID wagon. This band is going places,
and we're going to take them.

This bunch of ratbags will be picking up all sorts of bad habits when they
head out on tour with last year's Loudmouth headliners, Sum 41, so make sure
you check out FOR AMUSEMENT ONLY - and their refreshing take on punk rock
music!

Stay tuned because there's much more where that came from! We'll be giving
you round two in a few weeks time.
