This is following on the heels of three free Retroverts parties, all of
which had excellent lineups, including Mark Broom, Baby Ford, Guy Called
Gerald, Blake Baxter, Oscar Mullero, Ben Sims, and umm... a lot of other
people too. I think maybe Vince Watson at some point. Worth repeating...
they were free. Ben Sims went out on a limb throwing these parties and the
results were good. I only made it to the last one, and was completely sober
on the weekend post-DEMF, and had trouble getting into it when surrounded by
a bunch of happy kids going nuts - but the music was good and the
Gerald/Baby Ford acid sets downstairs were really enthused with a jackin'
crowd. They followed it up with a Tronic Treatment/Retroverts boat party
last month, and now teamed with Flux (Chris Finke and Ryan Blackman - who
both rock) they are poised to continue on solidly into the next year. If I
have any criticism it's that the lineups are a bit same-y from one to the
next, which was my same complaint about System last Winter. However, it is a
constant source of quality techno talent and nothing to shake a stick at -
and the introduction of Flux should help keep things even more diverse than
the diversification they're showing already. I'll definitely be heading down
to this one. Day after payday. :) Also, I've never seen Claude Young!!!

It's cool that they'll be doing that house party, and that they've bucked
the mold of one-style parties by throwing in healthy doses of acid and or
house in these primarilly techno lineups. Gots to give 'em props.
