Just a note to say thanks to all who came down to support us on
Saturday, and of course to Portable, Max, and Val Tyne.
Portable unveiled some startlingly modern but groovy moods on his new
LP, due out next month, Val set the scene admirably with an expert set,
seamlessly blending house, broken beats and techno.
Max, it has to be said though, stole the show with a mid-to-moderate
tempo set of the sinister, deep and emotional, made up of the obscurest
of obscure house (a lot of Chicago I think, with some spoken vocals)
and techno. The icing on the cake was some perfectly timed bombs like
'Feel The Mood' and 'Game One'. Hearing the latter, at about 3 am and
going beserk in a tightly packed in Public Life, has made my month.
