I've found samples from a record label called Calypso - which I checked out
on discogs.com and it seems to be a later date (90s) Italian label. The
tracks are pretty cool - tribal is not the right word, at least not
compared to "tribal" today - but they have that nice 'could be techno could
be house' feel. Also, the basslines in some of the tunes are that classic
Larry Heard sound.
Guess it was a sublabel of Irma records.

other labels I've been wondering about are Underground Music Movement
(Members of the House "These are my people" was licensed to them),
Suntune...

I've been following some links from discogs and it appears that either the
new releases are either crappy commercial trance tunes or are revisiting
old territory of classic house tunes

I've recently found a Bombers LP and 12" ep that has Gino Soccio on it -
it's got some pretty wild moments on it and the cover with the spaceship is
worth the purchase price

So, I guess I'm wondering about later Italo house (after the 1980's) -
what's worth checking out?

to start, just look for anything produced by bobby orlando or claudio
simonetti and you'll have a lot of great stuff to look for, two of the most

prolific italo producers...bobby o's stuff got played everywhere (even kdj
has sampled him rather obviously..) and dunno about claudio but he shoulda

been...so look for their names in the credits...not considered true italo,
but of course you wanna hunt down kano and gino soccio stuff too, always
big
in detroit and chi and well wherever cus its hot..also ditto the scotch,
klein & mbo etc reccomends from alex...doctor's cat has 2 or 3 classic
songs...there is loads of good stuff out there the lsit goes on and on.

also there ARE italo pages out there, such as katya casio's (of hong kong
counterfeit) cult heroes page
http://cultheroes.com, and
http://www.geocities.com/euro_beat_80/eurodisco.html ..google italo disco
and you'll find lots.

i bet i'm in a worse mood than you alex...i win!
