Fergie has had the likes of Umek doing guest mixes on his show recently. Judge Jules got into stuff like Andrew McLaughlin's Love Story and Adam Beyer's mix of Manipulated (cos of their cheesy elements I guess) and, like Fergie, has been playing a lot of the Beyer/Umek/Valentino/Tortured sh!te. Especially Fergie. Even Erick Morillo has been known to play Drumcode and Recycled Loops tunes in his sets. Judge Jules' and Fergie's fans expect conneisseurs of good techno to be grateful to them for playing this rather unimaginative subgenre on national radio for some reason - hence the debate on Little Detroit. It's the same old purist/populist debate, I suppose.

It says that they're playing the likes of Umek and Adam Beyer (I think these were two of the names mentioned). Is this true? not that I'm in anyway a fan of any of that tackle, but really? these guys on radio one? man, last time I paid any attention, Judges Jules was a terrible 'handbag' dj, and fergie was a sh*t hardcore/'tekno' dj. does this represent a step in the right direction? do they play Mills gear? or maybe some of the better harder stuff? very interested to know....... thanks. alex _________________________________________________________________ --------------------- End of message text -------------------- This e-mail is sent by the above named in their individual, non-business capacity and is not on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
