I guess my point was that I dont see making things with an audience in mind if what you would make differs from whats coming from your heart and soul.
deny your emotions and make something marketable, and then go turn some trix on the corner because you already whored your soul out. of course, the most "famous" and "successful" musicians are the ones who's true, heart-felt music appeals to the masses. too many people approach this art in a backwards azz kind of way... I'm not willing to compromise what I want from my music just to sell some records, get some chicks, or be "the man" on lists like this. hahaha ok, enough ranting from me today :) I hope you're all well, and I'd like to say thank you to the veterans and their families. its a shame we only dedicate one day a year to you. _j ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "Mann, Ravinder [CCS]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "'wojtek'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, November 11, 2003 3:51 PM Subject: Re: (313) Chillage Idiots/Detroit sound > > > maybe you could make a name for YOURSELF and stop > > re-inforcing the stagnation of detroit techno. this is a > > result of a few pioneers and a whoooole lotta > > sheep/producers. > > very true and real sentiment, however, trying to find an audience is very > tough these days...most people are pretty much stagnated > mentally/psychologically along with the music they're into...kind of like > the old lady you see driving a rambler in perfect condition with the beehive > and everything... > > > /b >
