I went record shopping for the first time in months today and got ahold of
some nicely priced goods that I thought some of you folks might appreciate.
For those in the bay area, Open Mind Music on Divisadero @ Fillmore is
having a big sale, all used vinyl is %20 off and if you buy $100 or more of
new vinyl it's %25 off. Good selection of stuff there, both new and used.
The first time I went there I was happily surprised by two full crates of
strictly rhythm 12" for like 2-5 each, and sections devoted to Trax and DJ
international for example (Sorry, I'm in a jackin phase). Anyways, here are
some highlights:
Cerrone - Love in C Minor for $2.95 ( thanks to listees for the ID on this
one awhile ago),
some beautiful white label remixes of Larry Heard's "Missing You" including
"Theo's Missing Dub" for $5.95,
Little Louie Vega and Marc Anthony "Ride on the Rhythm",
Tom Moulton's 12" disco mix of First Choice "Hold Your Horses" for $2.95,
Jonel "No 1" (produced by the Basement Boys, played out a ton in the deep
house clubs here last year) for $3.95,
Farley Jackmaster Funk and Darryl Pandy "Free Man" $3.95,
and a bunch of other cheap sleazy disco 12"'s.
Yeah records!
