Cool, like I said I wasn't TOTALLY slating the releases mentioned below but when I compare them to the sheer inventiveness and quality of (deep breath) My Medusa, Energy Flash, Strings Of Life, The Groove, R-tyme, Ocean To Ocean, Dark Comedy and even Bang The Party and you also look at the variation in those tracks produced in the "golden years" and then you compare that to Stephen Brown and Vince's output (and this isn't a personal attack- I've known Vince for years and he's a nice guy) or Rodenbush- that's where I'm coming from basically.

cheers

id argue that all day long. i havent heard the Rodenbush release,
but the only other releases since aril have been the john arnold
and john beltran (both of which were very very nice) and the
stephen browns, which were not classics, but still pretty high
quality stuff. transmat isnt my favorite label, and im certainly
not a derrick may fanboy, but overall i trust the guy's taste to
be at least decent and at best fantastic. "deepartures in time" is
my favorite techno record as well as possibly my favorite record
ever.
