Well if one of your criteria for satisfaction is *non* - "Whiteboy does
Hip-Hop", then we have a problem! :-)

Also, I'd expect IDM elements to be part of this newer, kind of hip-hop, I'm
envisaging, but not in all cases.

Then again, there is Madlib. But come on, course we need to keep OutKaste in
mind as we do the Neptunes, but I feel if you cut out people - especially
like Prefuse 73 - for not very good reason (imho), we are missing the point
somewhat. What I especially hope to discover next year is much less
well-known artists and acts than the above. If they're good, and have 'The
Funk', their facelessness will make a point a lot more eloquently than me.

Oh yes oh yes - I can see what Ken's saying - take a listen to people like
Beans, Boom Bip, Prefuse 73, Madlib, Mr. Lif, etc.
I do have to say that if you want some coverage of great hip-hop check
these two magazines - XLR8R and Grand Slam

recently came across the later in a Barnes & Noble of all places -
fantastic magazine that covers all of my funk and soul addictions
a little old and a litte new
