i find it rather disappointing that I am in the minority in feeling that an international forum such as 313 can't be used for passionate debate, for fear of someone being offended. there was a time- not that long ago- where seriously intense 'bile and venom' debates (about issues much smaller than Herbert) were the norm. and frankly- i got a lot more out of this list back then. politeness doesn't get to the truth of most issues- passion does.
