The voice of Dani Siciliano will be familiar to many of you, as her
distinctive jazz colored tones have been heard on the remarkable albums
of Matthew Herbert. Dani's approach to songwriting and recording is
beautifully original, however the tracks onLikes... are still based on
the wordplay and hooks of great pop music. Dani has an extraordinary
musical worldview, informed in equal parts by jazz and soul, punk and
country, go-go and hip-hop and of course house and electronica.
"In pop music, singing is pretty much all the singer does. Luckily, I
can build the musical context for my own voice. For me it's important
that the production sounds just as good as the vocals. And that lets
me be a bit more expressive, which ultimately is what any artist should
