a few things about cosmic: i've never been there at the garda lake because i was like 10 years old at the time, but i've heard tapes and lots of stories :)
they had a different style of programming each season, one year electronics with amongst other all the german stuff, daf, liaisons, some italo disco etc, one year r'n'b, disco-boogie, funk etc, another year afro, oriental stuff, "world music", and so on. 4 or 5 years in total iirc, till 1984/85 then it closed. they always had a very prepared and sophistcated set up with live drummers / musicians, special shows, special special effects :) their instantly recognisable sonic trademark was this original use of the eq. not in a chicago / us kind of way where you go down to the bass level then bring back the treble or the other way round (this bass & phatness fetishism only started in the late 80s in the us, or am i wrong?) but in a very psychedelic way where they fvcked with the midrange and treble and kind of turned the tracks inside-out, you really have to hear this to get the idea.. here's a mix i did with some of the cosmic classics in it, thomas leer, clive stevens, ymo, wahnfried, chris & cosey.. ha and there's even some unit in there stream: http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a9227118/tutu.ram mp3: http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a9227118/tutu33.mp3 lots of pics of cosmic and many many other italian clubs of that era (baia degil angeli!), a very nice, dilettant and dedicated site pics: http://www.discotecheafrofunky.it/immagini.htm http://www.danielebaldelli.com/
