what y'all listening to today. myself? how kind of you to inquire. i picked up james duncan's "times like these" EP [le systeme]... great NY style house. nice raw feel to it. i guess james did trumpet work on some morgan geist/metro area tracks.
yep "times like these" is ace!! James Duncan played horn on that wicked track "Lullaby" on Morgan's "Super" ep on Environ.. which i think is such a brilliant track, and he plays horn on Metro Area 5.
But check Duncan's brand new 12-inch on on Le Systeme (his own imprint).. called Night Tracks EP.. very much in a Prescription / KMS influenced deep style that brings back the love of uplifting house music and has a rich, classic deep feel to it. His first 12-inch "Times Like These" caused quite a stir with some DJs in the UK but was never picked up by any US distributors, which sucks for us. (but what's new... hah)
I think his Night Tracks EP will get US distribution this time.. anyway it should be out proper by early June, keep an eye out for it.
