I've heard him play several times - even witnessed his nose mixing - but it just doesn't move me - as I said, I want to hear a record properly without loads of crap going on on top of it - maybe if I was a DJ, I would feel differently -----Original Message----- From: Matt MacQueen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, June 07, 2004 5:56 PM To: Robert Taylor; 313 Subject: Re: (313) INFLUENCE.

Personally I love it. He can take and inject the funk back into techno by the way he combines it and re-arranges constantly. Hearing a track out, and hearing Claude play the same track out is like night and day. Most uptempo techno is (still, i think) intended to be a DJ's medium... and claude is one of the few at the vanguard of that art IMHO... and has been for many years. If you've never seen him, there's a couple (tiny & dark) quicktime moves i did on this page on Reverb @ Hyperreal many years ago that are but a glimpse into his freestyle/freeform style, with audio. (words by dan sicko, photos & video by me) http://media.hyperreal.org/zines/reverb/sardine.html if you like that, check out the rest of the features to, there's some clips and stories about other detroity/techno things too. peace -- Matt MacQueen http://SonicSunset.com ##################################################################################### Note: Any views or opinions are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Channel Four Television Corporation unless specifically stated.
