just noticed submerge is carrying a lot of new stuff, some new labels in
s.i.d. -- environ, kajmere (nice larry heard remix!), etc etc...turning more
and more into a one-stop shopping place...
stuff i'm digging:
roko dragonbreath - jumpin 2 conclusions (blacklabel) -- great electro, and
one very 80's track that would be cheesey if it werent so fun/good...great
sounds alla round, not derivative, good stuff!
acido #1 (acido) -- no distribution yet for this, the first record on a new
label from east berlin...has a crazy noise track, a nice megamix track with
everything from old electro, rnb, house, inner city...fun stuff. megamixes
are underrated. other side has some nice minimal techno, one reminding me of
early blacknation stuff, the other is more towards chi techno, good stuff
for da club. produced by my friend dynamo dreesen along with his friends dc
schuhe and peter grummich (who has records on ghostly/spectral i think)
and yeah that unit4 record is dope even if you can kinda tell it was made by
ex-trance producers heh...deep catchy dubby italo-y disco-y
the microworld album is fantastic!! personal, deep, highest quality
techno...i hope transmat at least puts out a 12" from it, or better still
the whole thing on vinyl..
digging the duplex cd sampler they gave out at movement too, more top
quality deep techno...
not too into that kenny larkin album except for a few tracks, or rotating
assembly, good stuff just not all that engaging to me....maybe they'll grow
on me
