so i wasnt horribly impressed with the first three, and 2 of the
second three are just as unimpressive IMO. not bad, just not as
good as i had hoped. i kinda get annoyed when dance producers
decide that they need to do all live stuff like they need to prove
that theyre "real" producers/musicians/etc, even someone whose
stuff i love like theo's. anyway, the last disc in this set of
three's sleeve says its sides K and L of SS-019, but the etching
on the vinyl says its SS-018 sides C and D. it definitely sounds
more like plain old theo stuff, and there are no additional
musicians listed on the sleeve. i wonder if this was meant to be
part of a double pack with the original SS-018 or what? weird.
anyway, its very nice. shawn called "them drums" 'the IDM of
detroit house', whatever that means. in real life is a weird
drummy house track that would probably scare off any dancefloor
youd play it on. the other cut is a nice deep pumping theo joint,
just the way i like it.
