This five hour set was so incredible.
Anyone in Oz who missed it... wow.
I couldn't believe when Stacey started scratching hip-hop style with his
records taped up and everything. He played classic Rakim and later some R&B
among a deep, deep, deep set of house and techno and generally SP type
grooves.
The R&B I can identify: Beyonce's Naughty Girl, Sleepy Brown's I Can't Wait
feat OutKast, and a ragga NERD remix I am still trying to identify.
Also Vikter Duplaix's Sensuality and the Ben Watts' Meshell Ndegecello remix
were in there.
He started off playing Prince (guess he was hyped from seeing Prince in
Detroit) - Erotic City - and also played Head and finished with Little Red
Corvette. Encore track was the Yam Who? remix of Pharrell's Frontin'.
I really love how Stacey is trying to bridge the different facets of
urban/dance/electronica so fluidly. It makes so much sense to me. I don't
know if he does it everytime but I never saw him scratch before so... ;)

> SUNDAY 4TH JULY
> Honkytonks presents An intimate night with Stacey Pullen
> Support: Christian Vance
> $20 on the door
>
> Stacey is one of those DJs that know exactly how to give the party people
> something new, catching them unaware, throwing them into the deep unknown of
> new sounds and making them lick their lips with satisfaction, only to
> respond with requests of more. This Sunday Honkytonks is proud to announce
> that we are doing just that - giving you MORE Stacey Pullen.
>
> Stacey is ready to let you into his world and get deeper into his gamut of
> sound (again). ³When I do come down to Australia I put together something
> special, because it¹s the only place I can come and I know that I am
> guaranteed to play minimum of five or six hours. I approach it different to
> any of my other gigs because of course I am getting a little bit deeper into

> Are you ready to spend another evening with Stacey? Setting the palette
