The Cynic
untitled
(Techno, Microhouse/Detroit, MI) The Cynic works at the
lauded Recordtime store, where he spends too much of his
check on imports that the owner would much rather customers
buy at full price. Bosses aside, The Cynic has all of the
gangsta tracks making the Detroit-New York-Berlin circuit,
and he mixes them in a way that is completely smooth, yet
allowing each subsequent track its own identity. You'll melt
to the dreamy voice of Matthew Dear and jerk your head around
to the Willy Wonka segment of Theo Parrish and Matthew
Herbert. Best of all, you'll find yourself wiggling in your
car seat throughout this perfectly paced hour-long bleep
fest. JS
