Whats the scoop on the new one you've been playing on the show Matt? (on Still music)

that's a 'godson' thing too?

yes it's The "Godson 2" EP on Still Music. Due to delays w/ artwork (again... but apparently worth it), label copies due out in late November. Only 2000 so don't sleep! There may be others repressed after that, but not with original artwork.

this is also worth passing on, a review from Beyondjazz.net. I thought it was funny that the genre categorization was simply: "Detroit". weren't we just talking about that?

HANS / BEYONDJAZZ.NET – 5 STARS
"Some months ago Patchworks ‘Sugar EP’ got this new Chicago label going.
Now a legendary Detroit producer, named Rick Wilhite is gonna notch the
label even more attention in the worldwide scene. As a part of the 3
Chairs collective Rick can be considered as one of the Detroit pioneers
and under his Godson guise he - among others - released ‘Soul Edge’ on
Kenny Dixon Jr’s KDJ imprint back in 1996. ‘City Bar Reopen "Live"
Dancing’ truly stands out thanks to the great vocalist Billy Beemer.
‘Magic Water’ has got all a Detroit track is expected to contain and yet
doesn’t sound washed-out. The Roland kicks and synths, distortion and
analogue layers all sound amazing!. The rather average remix by St Jean
(aka Delano Smith) might have been the only reason this release wouldn't
have been blessed with my five stars, if there wasn't the gorgeous artwork
to make up for. And of course the two other tracks both are pure Detroit
bliss! Or should i say Chicago bliss?"
