I run a completely clean machine with Ableton on Ian and rewire still crashes - so much so that we carry a spare machine and dupe sets on each machine we use (4 in total).

You've got a conflict somewhere Ian - probably something else using the
        soundcard. Also sounds like you are also using a machine with loads of
        other stuff on - not wise when using Ableton...
