The guy that spins with me on that night actually had the record in his box and came running when I put it on. He hates pump up the jam now thats just crazy talk. how can you not like that record?

that A-side.. it's a masterpiece of classic tape edits.. i discovered Bar Kays 'holy ghost' by finding out what that one drum break and bombed out bassline was.. it's great!! if a little overexposed, i could see that point. but not any more than, say, Lil Louis 'French Kiss' was around the same era. French Kiss used to get played on detroit and chicago primetime daytime radio, with various levels of the orgasm included.. hah
