What are you doing to make it use >loads of CPU? god knows. it's 100% fine with the internal sound card (with fairly high latency admittedly). put the indigo in and all of a sudden it's heavy on the cpu for anything - running 5 tracks at the same time with 3 plugins on each and its extremely close to tipping over. obviously this isn't a great deal at all and this shouldn't be happening. I'm relatively sure its the card though and not ableton or my computer? p.s. do the trick with the audio anyway, but. what does a pre-amp do? will it make it louder?
