I have a few things by them. There's a CD on LD Records, a division of Play It Again Sam, called "The First Songs", which is pretty early material. Their sound is somewhat reminiscent of bands like Joy Division, Section 25, Crispy Ambulance, except not quite so rock-oriented or bass heavy or driving . Its more midtempo music with light drum machine, bass, vocals and atmospheres with a nice French flair. But when you hear the basslines, you can see why they're lumped in with that Factory sound. "Chapter IV remix" is another good one for them. The sound is similar to that on "The First Songs" except the textures are richer and the basslines more pronounced.

Their later albums didn't work for me at all. On their earlier material, the vocals worked best when he wasn't really trying to sing, per se. On the later albums it sounds like he's trying too hard to sing and since he really can't sing well, it comes off sounding strained. The music is good though, if you can still appreciate that sound so many years after the fact.

Overall, I'd say they're a B-grade band. Not that they're bad, just not A-list material, though songs like "Djakarta" are top notch. I've seen their CDs listed on www.gemm.com and www.half.com at workable (and some not-so-workable) prices, if you're still looking to sample their work.
