NIKO MARKS LIVE!

There just seems to be no end to the stream of incredibly talented musicians coming from Detroit. One of the biggest revelations without a doubt is Niko Marks. He already has a firm musical history behind him, working with the likes of Juan Atkins, Eddie Fowlkes, DJ Bone, Carl Craig, Mike Grant, Mike Banks plus many more greats in the music industry – but only recently is he stepping into the full spotlight with his first productions under his own name.

Niko has a tremendous musical background thanks to his large family of music lovers and the huge influence of his late mother who was his musical mentor. In the late 80’s Niko hooked up with Mike Banks of Submerge and became part of the original set-up of the legendary house outfit Members of the House. After Members of the House disbanded due to differing musical aspirations, Niko continued to work with Mike under the name Unit 2. He also collaborated with Eddie Fowlkes on the City Boy Players project, another experience in fusing styles aimed at tearing down the classification of music.

He has been welcomed by Regal Recordings/New Religion, which has released a mini-EP of three of his tracks: "Carnal", "Zombia" and "Moon Cycles". Niko has recently collaborated with DJ Bone on the soon to be released compilation entitled, "Subject Detroit vol. 3". The track from Niko is entitled, "House People Know". Next to that, he has a full album ready: "In The Unseen", which is soon to be released. Keep an eye open for this musical maestro from the D!
