Rick Wilhite's store is on the north side of 8 Mile just east of the
Southfield expressway. He's in a building with a lot of other offices and
such--I forget the address. There is absolutely no signage for Rick's store
which makes things difficult. The building is kinda 60s style
architecture--almost set up on stilts like. I think his number is in the
phone book and it's best to give them a call first since the hours are
erratic. That said, it's well worth the visit. The best second hand shops
are as follows: People's Records on Second and Forrest (just a couple blocks
South of Wayne state) in the D. Also the Arc which is on Hancock and
Woodward--behind the police station--near WSU. Also Young Soul Rebels which
is on Woodward and Willis--above the C-POP gallery. Probably the best
all-round store is Melodies and Memories on Gratiot and 9 Mile in
Eastpointe. I have also heard that Car City Records in St. Clair Shore is
great. And of course Record Time in Roseville and Ferndale are always
excellent spots. Good luck.

'representative'? that's some responsibility...

btw, I'm pleased to say that I'm now in Detroit. I'm based near Ferndale at
the moment and was wondering if any local people had suggestions for good
second hand record shops to check out in this area? Doesn't have to be
techno or house.

Also, does anybody know where Rick Wilhite's shop is?

many thanks!

Dan
