*maybe* having bootlegs going around are in one way or another beneficial
for the artists. (im using the term beneficial loosely here).
a bit like mp3s getting shared on soulseek are beneficial for artists. it
exposes them to the public, who may then go out and buy more legit
material....
i think we've gone full-cycle with this thread though now...
fab.

Well bootlegging is one thing, but what HTFR is doing isn't bootlegging,
it's counterfeiting. It's no different from what's happening to Rolex
watches and Louis Vuitton bags. Only where Asians are producing cheap, low
quality knockoffs because of otherwise very expensive originals, HTFR are
producing very expensive low quality knockoffs because of otherwise
unavailable originals.
For Rolex and LV I can understand it's difficult to find the culprits. But
for Carl, Derrick and all the others who have been ripped off by these
crooks, it should be quite a lot easier. They know exactly who they
are.... And it's not that they're so p*ss poor they can't afford a lawyer
are they? Especially when it's such a clear case theyre going to win. So
why they haven't done anything yet is beyond me. Let's hope it's only a
matter of time.

so to conclude, all i can say is that its the *consumers* who decide,
whether to keep crooks like HTFR in business by buying their stuff, or
instead buy conscientiously and showing that there isnt a market for
illegal
bootlegs. it's a buyer's market so to speak...
exactly my point fabrizio, my scooter driving, lady chasing, spaghetti
loving, boring football teams friend.
