May I be annoying, and raise a rebuttal here? :)

Digitalised music is always an "approximation", so I prefer to stick
with "the real thing" and keep my vinyl.
In a decent sound system anyone can tell the difference when
comparing the "real thing" with .wav, .mp3 or any other standard
digital format...

In 1991, I was skeptical about this newfangled "Compact Disc" thing.

(Not to namedrop, but ...) Skinny Puppy's cEvin Key was over my house
one day, and we talked about it. I gave him my Old Skool arguments,
come on, how could this be as "warm" as vinyl, it's sampled so it's an
approximation, blah blah ...

He looked me square in the eye and said, "Greg, look. We make music, so
we ought to know how it's supposed to sound, right?" "Mmmmhmmn."
"Well, our CDs sound like our music sounded to us in the studio. Vinyl
records don't."

I bought a portable DiscMan-type CD player the next day and, for all
intents and purposes, have never looked back.
