Cheers dude, but didn't Musicology only come out in like February or March
this year in the UK? And the musicology tour in the states was only this
year too I think, so dont think he would have been promoting the album over
here in 2002. I haven't heard of any UK musicology tour dates, so just
wondered if any were planned.

Err... I know my mate went to see him in London two years ago. I am
fairly sure it was the musicology tour.

Hang on, let me dig out his e-mail:

Awight?

Right, thought I'd better update a few of you on how the gig
went, because if you're not interested, you should be. In case you didn't
hearI went to see Prince in concert at the Hammersmith Apollo 12 years
afterthe last time I saw him live, (though the likelihood of anyone not
havingheard is very low given that I've been running around shouting it
outfrom the top of my lungs for the past week). As a kid I was into
hisstuff in a big way, but a combination of his movement into R n' B and
myown feelings of embarassement meant that me and the Paisley Pigmy (as
anesteemed and respected colleague of mine termed him) parted
company.Anyway, I would like to officially come back out of the closet
andre-establish myself as a true admirer. In short; hi, my name is marc,
andyes, I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a Prince fan. There, I said it,
itwasn't that difficult.

But, and I add a sub-clause, I would suggest that my plea of
innocencehas gained credibility and strength from the fact that the
Purple perverthas gone back to his roots, and is now doing electro-funk
in a big way.Quoting a musical tradition continuous with the likes of
Miles, JamesBrown, George Clinton, Parliament, Funkadelic and Maceo
Parker themajestic midget is not far wrong. The music was hard
jazz/funkorientated, his band as tight as a nun's arse with a wardrobe
to match(don't worry, I don't know what that means either). The evenings
guestwas Maceo Parker, and after doing my research I discovered that the
bassplayer was Larry Graham Juniour, (from the 70's Graham central
stationband; played on a few Sly Stone tunes).

Anyway, I enjoyed it so much that next morning I went out, bought the
newalbum, which at 20 quid (on import) is no small price, but had to
bedone, and in addition, managed to pick up a few of his old
classicssecond hand. It's been so long since I listened to anything he's
doneeverything I had was on cassette. So there you go, I'd just like to
saythat don't worry if next time you see me I'm back in me 'eels and
hairnet, because I'm back on the scene, and not ashamed.....(well, maybe
alittle)....

Does anyone know if the Musicology tour is ever coming to the UK? Or did
it
already and I totally missed it somehow?

Stu
