If The Black Dog represents the meditative, introspective aspect of
Dust Science's output, then System 23 is the opposite pole. Honing
their rhythms by devastating a series of parties across Britain and
Europe, System 23 represent the ultimate distillation of northern
pile-driver techno.
One More Line is anthemic four-four hardcore. It's a single-minded
peak-time banger with buckets of attitude. Peaker is a mind-bending
circular throb, but it's not mindless: it layers blistering
soca-fuelled percussion over stop-start loops. Exit sounds like the end
of the world. Volcanic rips of noise resolve into a soundscape tinged,
incredibly, with gospel.
